Crazy Dayz

Yesterday did not seem like a Monday, which is the major reason that I forgot to blog until I laid down around midnight, looked at my alarm clock and immediately thought, "It was Monday, and I didn't blog. Crap!"

It probably didn't help much that yesterday was a fairly busy day. I opened at work, which means that I was there from eight to five. It was a good day, as most days at work have been recently. It was actually really busy too. The store was unusually packed for a Monday, which is both good and strange. Today was a similarly good/strange day at work. It's going to be hard to leave it all behind yet again.

Once I managed to get home last night, I met up with Sarah and Nichole and we went and grabbed something to eat. It was nice to get to sit down and catch up. We went to one of the small diners here in town, where the food is equal parts good and cheap. Both of these features are greatly appreciated when you consider that we are all college students.

All in all it's been a hectic few days, and I'm looking forward to working a closing shift tomorrow rather than an open. It's nice to get out of work early, but lately I haven't been sleeping well. It's difficult to get up early consecutively when you aren't getting enough sleep. Now I'm off to read, watch the Golden Girls and maybe think about getting some real sleep.

Hot Dog Ministry

Yesterday was a fairly busy day. I went to my two classes in the morning and late afternoon, and then by two thirty went to go do laundry. That took me about an hour and half, and during that time I got a fair amount of reading done for my JRN 200 class.

Once the laundry was done I headed back to my room and put everything away, before heading back to a little study area downstairs where I managed to get even more of my reading done. Then it was back upstairs, where while I watched The Golden Girls I also concentrated on my other textbook for that class.

By about seven thirty or so, Felicia came and picked me up and we headed over to the house she's staying at. From there I got a ride from Indigo to go to hot dog ministry. At hot dog ministry we basically stand in front of this Christian Co-op and hand out free hot dogs to people walking by. It was actually a lot of fun, and really kind of funny because a lot of the people were really pretty drunk.

All in all, it was a lot of fun.

Move-In Day

I FINALLY got the confirmation today that I am expected to move in next Wednesday, which is good because I was beginning to this I was crazy. Well, crazier anyway... I finally cleared off my desk the other day, which had been driving me crazy. I can finally sit at my desk again which is nice. I have a tendency to pile it high with books and notebooks that I don't feel like putting away, until it gets to the point that I can't honestly find anything without dismantling the pile that has been amassed.

Thankfully I can move in whenever on Wednesday, so Dad can still go golfing in the morning with my Uncle like he usually does. Thursday and Friday next week I get to go through training for my job, which I realize I may have already divulged but quite frankly it's all that is going on at the moment.

I finished reading the other half of the book that I started last night, and am well on the way to finishing the book that I started reading a couple hours ago. That is the one nice thing about so much free time, I get to catch up on reading all of the books that I have in my various "to read" piles. It has gone from being three piles to a manageable two. Woot!

The last few days have been very productive. The other night I finally hung my All Time Low poster, and earlier today I got out the nail gun and mounted my mirror on the wall. Oh, and I took Coach on a walk this afternoon. Of course, then Yoda was jealous, but quite frankly he'll get over it. I am not off to watch the Golden Girls and finish reading my book during the commercial breaks. Just another night in the life. :)

The Phone Book

Last night FedEx claimed that my computer would be here today, and today it says that it will be here tomorrow. I can live with it coming in the mail tomorrow, but no later than tomorrow! At the moment I have once more comendeered my brothers computer for the purposes of this blog.

I'm watching 'Made of Honor' at the moment. Really, my day has been about as interesting as this moment. Last night I was awake until two thirty this morning, and didn't even get to watch The Golden Girls. I was occupied watching 'All Time Low's' performance on MTV unplugged and talking to Sarah.

By the way, All Time Low's acoustic set was AMAZING. Although, come to think about it they could probably sing the phone book and I would listen. Yeah.

Movie Adaptions

I was anticipating The Golden Girls being on when I got home, but for whatever reason Hallmark has decided to have them on at eleven instead of ten. Oh well.

Tonight was a rather slow night at work, although I kept busy enough so I suppose that's all that really matters. In just under three weeks I'll be leaving the job that I've held for the last two years. It will be strange to not work there anymore. While I can't say that I will necessarily miss the job, I will certainly miss the people.

The movie adaption of Jodi Picoult's "My Sister's Keeper" came out a while ago, and I'm thinking of going to see it at some point this week. I really enjoyed the book, so I'm a little wary of the movie. That is the thing about movie adaptions of books, they rarely translate the way that you envision them and sometimes it's hard to think of them as two separate entities no matter how necessary.

I finished reading "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins last night. It was amazing, and I reviewed it on my other blog.

The Desk

Today was a productive day. The store was fairly busy when I got into work. In fact, it was busy enough for the computers to be acting up. It really stinks when the computers decide that they don't want to function properly.

At any rate though, I kept busy. I had a lot of artwork to put out, and a desk to put together so that we could put it out on display. Putting the desk together was interesting. The process went easily enough, until I had to fasten the top portion onto it. There were four wooden dowels that were supposed to help fasten it, but when the front portion fastened on, the back wouldn't line up and the vice versa. I ended up on using the dowels on one section, since it had to be fastened with screws as well. I ended up having parts left over, but everything was securely put together and since there shouldn't ever be a reason to dismantle it, it should be fine.

I drove home amidst stormy skies. It was interesting walking out of the building because the sky was a study in juxtaposition. The southern portion was blue with big puffy clouds, and the northern portion was dark and murky with occasional flashes of lightning and thunder. I was glad that I was headed south. All in all though it was a full day, and I made it home in time to watch The Golden Girls.
