FYI

It was another riveting day in my Lit/Cultures class. Did I need to to go to class today? Probably not.

Today we actually talked about the book that we're reading, but the prof. started the class by asking for a synopsis of what we had read. What is the point of doing a synopsis on a portion of a book that we have all supposedly read? There is no need to catch anyone up, because we should all be on the same page.

I don't understand why he thinks that asking us to minutely summarize what we've read is an adequate way to spur conversation. FYI, it's not.

He said that he'll be posting grades for our first paper this weekend, finally. That means Sunday I get to see how I did. Hopefully I didn't do too terribly considering it's twenty percent of the final grade in that class.

Laundry, maybe?

At the moment I am debating whether or not I want to go do laundry. I kind of want to wear one of my hoodies, but they're both due to be washed, so in that respect it would make sense to go do a load. Although I just did laundry last week so I'm not really to the point that it is something I need to do. In fact, it was last Thursday that I did laundry, so it hasn't even been a week...

I'll probably end up going down and doing laundry.

In other news I seem to be keeping up better with all of my reading. I have found that it is all about pacing. I have a chapter and a half to finish in my Elements of Journalism textbook and then we have another textbook for the same class that is referred to as the "big blue book". I have three chapters to read in there.

The nice thing about "the big blue book" though is that the chapters are rather short so at the moment I'm concentrating on EoJ. My goal is to finish reading them by about six or so because fellowship is at seven.

I'm so organized, I even managed to blog this Wednesday! I had my Lit/Cultures class earlier. I tell you what, that class is an excellent excise in wasted time. Oh, and the professor is really good at dodging questions. Basically we spent the whole fifty minute class period going over responses people gave on the online module from the first week of class. We had to critique them and the thing is that even though the names had been removed from the entries they had been written by people in the class.

Phone Shipping

Before I delve into more school related reading, I though maybe I should take a break and write a blog. Classes today started out well and then got progressively boring. Thankfully though I only had three classes to make it through.

I've nearly finished the online component to my Lit/Cultures class. I don't mind analyzing a book, but it's much more preferable to be done in the form of class discussion as opposed to answering formulaic questions online... whatever. I have another hundred pages to read for Wednesday, which I think I might start tonight.

However, that depends on how long it takes for me to finish reading the third chapters in my Intro to Media textbook and MacroEcon. textbook. Hopefully that won't take me too long to read through.

My phone finally made it to my house today, and my mom shipped it out to me. According to the post office it should make it here by either tomorrow or Wednesday. Really, the sooner it gets here the better. It's kind of awful to only be able to text. Grr.

Alright, I am off to go study. Maybe.

The Phone Book

Last night FedEx claimed that my computer would be here today, and today it says that it will be here tomorrow. I can live with it coming in the mail tomorrow, but no later than tomorrow! At the moment I have once more comendeered my brothers computer for the purposes of this blog.

I'm watching 'Made of Honor' at the moment. Really, my day has been about as interesting as this moment. Last night I was awake until two thirty this morning, and didn't even get to watch The Golden Girls. I was occupied watching 'All Time Low's' performance on MTV unplugged and talking to Sarah.

By the way, All Time Low's acoustic set was AMAZING. Although, come to think about it they could probably sing the phone book and I would listen. Yeah.

Shipping Practices

I put this off until now thinking that perhaps I would come up with something interesting to discuss.... and quite frankly it's been a rather standard day.

A few days ago I ordered three books through Barnes and Noble citing that I would like them to ship in as few packages as possible. The first two books in my order shipped together and then I received an e-mail saying that the other one could not be shipped yet. Today I got two packages in the mail.

Both packages were from Barnes and Noble. I find it really amusing that they couldn't seem to be bothered to send everything in a single package, though it managed to arrive together none-the-less.

Tickets and Reviews

Today started and ended relatively better than yesterday, which is a definite plus. I bought concert tickets this morning prior to getting ready to head in to work. I get to see Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco and Chester French in August! It's exciting!

I am now officially addicted to Twitter. It's all Sarah's fault, because I say it is. This is relavant only because they are doing maintenance at the moment, and therfore I can't refresh the page for updates as usual. Bummer! Now how am I supposed to procrastinate?

Really, this has been my day, which proves once again how boring I really am. I finished reading "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" finally, and it was just as awesome as it looked. While its base was recognizable as the original, obviously, it did loose some of it's literary language in translation. Overall it was a fun read as long as you don't take it too seriously. In the next few weeks I'll probably get a review written up and posted on my other blog.

Just Another Day

I’m eating healthy tonight. At the moment I’ve got a can of cotton candy at my side and in moments I will have a frozen lasagna serving fresh from the oven. As usual, I have a glass of coke near at hand. Yum!

Work was fairly uneventful. The majority of my day was spent climbing a ladder and hanging pictures, and then re-hanging them when they didn’t look right the first time. This wasn’t so bad, though several of the pictures were rather large and therefore rather heavy.

I wish I had more to talk about, but I don’t seem to. I suppose this will have to pass for today’s post…

Not Much To Say

Lately this whole blogging thing has been going really well, and then a night like tonight rolls around. For the last hour I’ve been staring at this blank screen to intimidated to start putting words on the page. I’m not exactly sure of the source of this intimidation aside from possibly the conviction that I don’t really have much to say.

It’s been a rather quiet day all around. I’ve nearly finished reading a book that I began the other day, which I suppose is an accomplishment… but aside from that I’ve been fairly unproductive. I go back to work tomorrow, and perhaps that will spur something more interesting with which to write about.

In fact, I work the next four days in a row. It’s interesting to have gone from having only one day to work this week to having a total of five. It’s good of course in the long run…

Tax Day

Several months ago my Dad and I figured up my taxes, and we determined that I had to pay both to the Federal government and the state. Turns out though, that after my Dad redid them today he made a slight error, and I actually get back just about everything I paid in to the federal.

I still have to pay out to the state but that’s to be expected. So my tax turned out to not be so bad.

I still have a ton of Philosophy homework to work through, and I don’t want to. As you can imagine this creates a problem. I can’t seem to find the motivation to dive into the reading. I’m sure that I will later on tonight, but at the moment I’d rather watch last night NCIS and The Mentalist.

Definitely better uses of my time for the moment, or you know…whatever.

Nothing Much to Say

I haven’t had the time recently to read for pleasure. I want to change that this weekend, but first I have some homework to catch up on. Thankfully I got all of my online work done for the week, but I also want to work on some of next week’s material as well. The goal is not to have to worry about anything school related over spring break. We’ll see if I can manage it.

By Friday night I should have all the loose ends tide up. Of course, it doesn’t help matters that I agreed to work a twelve hour shift tomorrow. It’s hard to refuse the hours, and how hard can it really be? I’m sure I’ll think differently come midnight tomorrow, but hopefully not.

All day I thought about sitting down and writing this, and now that I’ve finally taken the time to sit down and go about doing so, I have nothing to say. Or at least, nothing that I can think of that is important enough to say. It’s amazing how blank your mind can go when faced with a mockingly blank screen.

I’m also thinking that I want to devote my spring break to writing more short stories. Maybe I’ll post some of that on here…

Concentration Failure

If I could find the will power to concentrate for even a very few minutes, it would be a miracle.

My mind finds itself in too many places, trying to consider and go over too many scenarios. I find conflicts between the time that I need to devote to school and the time that I need to devote to work. While each has claims on my time, neither is possible without the other.

I take that back, work is possible without school, but school is the major fuel behind the need of the job. It’s difficult to be at ease when so many things are uncertain….

To Study... or not

I’m supposed to be studying for my Psych test. I told myself as I was grumbling about going to work this morning that I would come right home and study. I’ve been home for two hours and have yet to seek out my book. Truthfully I’m not too worried about it. It’s not physics or anything.

God, I wasted so much time studying for those physics tests… I’ll get over it, someday. :D

I might get some study time in yet tonight, but probably not. Of course, studying would be a more effective use of time than attempting to sleep. Lately the moment the lights are off and the house is quiet the ceiling becomes increasingly interesting. Sleep deprivation ftw!

I promise to try and be more interesting tomorrow. However, based on the current trend I would suggest not holding your breath on that count.

Wing's Castle

Over the weekend, Yahoo had a feature article on their page front about castles located in the United States. Many of them were really stunning, though I’ve found a favorite. It’s called Wing’s Castle and it’s located in Millbrook, NY. I think it’s gorgeous, though if you don’t believe me check it out…

On a completely unrelated note, today was relatively uneventful. It seemed that every time I found myself backing out of a parking space people saw fit to drive behind me. Really? I know my car isn’t huge, but it’s not invisible or anything. At least, not that I’m aware of; I could be wrong, but I’m fairly certain I’m not.
